I was at the park last week when I overheard a gaggle of mums talking about family holidays and how much they hate to travel with kids. This particular conversation in the park had me hooked!
Hervey Bay is in the heart of the Fraser Coast (290km north from Brisbane). For the ones that might not know it, Hervey Bay is one of the best places in Australia for whale watching. Actually, Hervey Bay calls itself the Whale Watching capital of the world. In spite of it, Hervey Bay could be one of those forgotten holiday destinations given
its proximity to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island and due to the fact that the Whale season is in winter.
Just before Christmas I recently travelled to New York for the first time- and it was AMAZING! New York was number one on my travel bucket list and it didn’t disappoint. It turns out though that there is so much more, including strong ties to Australia through World War II that I had no idea about. Here are some of the things we discovered about Sabah Borneo… Continue reading

Bali is one of the top holiday destinations for Australians and definitely for those of us with families. Just the thought of it conjures up images of sun, sand, relaxing and swimming. It’s a tropical paradise that is affordable and so close!
Fiji is like a second home for me. I’ve been many times and stayed at lots of resorts, and I decided it was where I wanted to spend my 40th birthday a few years ago. It’s a popular destination for families and at least once a week I get asked about where to go and stay in Fiji with kids. This trip we visited four different resorts over three and a half weeks. I’ve written down my thoughts on all four below.
