Three ways to use your own Backyard Home Cinema

Have you thought about an outdoor cinema but wondered if it would be worth the cost? Smart Digital Australia sent us their new product, the Backyard Home Cinema, to road test and we are hooked!

Here is how we have been using it in the last week:

Family Movie Night

I’ve written before that family movie night is one of our favourite ways to bond as a family. Well, now our family movie nights have gone next level! We set the Backyard Home Cinema up on the deck and it’s the perfect home theatre! The screen is inflatable so it’s super quick and easy to set up and pack down. The included speaker gives you the authentic movie feeling and you just hook your laptop up to the projector to run it.

Teen Birthday Parties

My oldest daughter just turned 17 and she had her friends over for an outdoor movie night. They watched all their tween favourites on the big screen and had an amazing time! I set it up with snacks and drinks and it was just like the real cinema.

Big Screen Gaming

The set up isn’t just great for movies, the teens have been loving it for video games too. We have left it set up on the deck all week and they have been out there every evening. We had a family Mario Bros tournament the other day (because that’s the only game I know how to play lol!)

We are also going to be packing it up to take camping with us this summer because it’s the perfect way to entertain the kids every night. I also have big plans for some mums’ night in movie nights with all my friends on the deck over the summer. We will start the evening off with a swim in the pool and then head off to the movies! It’s the perfect way to hang out!

The Backyard Home Cinema we were sent comprises a 2.5m blow-up screen with pump, a CREX300 Projector and a Dolby Stereo Soundbar, which retails for $1399. There are a number of options though and you can find them at www.smartdigital.com.au/handitheatre/
