10 minute Salted Caramel Sauce

10 minute salted caramel sauce

I’m currently obsessed with salted caramel sauce (with extra salt)! I could eat it by the spoonful. It’s amazing with brownies, waffles, ice-cream, pancakes and anything else you can think of. I was a latecomer to the salted caramel craze because I’m not that keen on caramel in general. But salted caramel is a whole new world!

So if you’re looking for a quick and easy salted caramel recipe here you go!

Ingredients:

80g of butter

50g  of brown sugar

50g of castor sugar

3 tablespoons of golden syrup

160 ml of double cream

1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

1.5 teaspoons of salt flakes

Method

Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan on medium heat, stirring continuously with a wooden spoon for approximately 10 minutes, or until completely combined.

Pour into jars and let them cool before refrigerating.

TIP: If your sauce separates add a tablespoon of very hot water to the mixture and mix fast for 1 minute. This should bring it back together.
