Easy Valentine’s Day Treats for Kids

Valentine's Day Treats for Kids

You might not have a lot of time to make Valentine’s Day romantic but it’s always fun to do a few Valentine’s Day themed activities with the kids. To help you out we have three super easy afternoon tea or dessert ideas that your kids will love.

Valentine’s Day Heart Cake

All you need is a square and a round cake tin and two batches of cake batter. Feel free to cheat like I did and just buy two cake mixes with icing. I just used a light vanilla cake.

bake them both and let them cool, then cut the round cake in half and place the two sides on the square cake- look, it’s a heart!

Tint your icing pink (you may need to make an extra batch, I certainly did.. It didn’t help that I made this on the hottest day of the year and the icing melted!)

Ice your cake and decorate it how you please. It’s the perfect dessert!

Valentine’s Day Heart-Shaped Pikelets

You can’t get easier than this cute snack. Grab a bag of pikelets, a heart-shaped cookie cutter, sprinkles and some strawberry jam.

Cut the heart out of the pikelet, spread with jam and add sprinkles. It’s a two-minute afternoon tea they will love.

Yum. I brought a heart shaped cake tin recently. Clever thinking that a heart can be made so easily without a heart tin.
