Recently our family celebrated my nephew Mylo's Naming Ceremony. As we aren't religious all the kids in our family have a Naming Ceremony instead- a celebration to welcome them into the world, surrounded by family and friends. It's a great opportunity to get together with everyone and catch up. I was lucky enough to be named as one of his Mentors so it was a a special day for me too!
Our father conducted the ceremony (as it's not a legal one) and as part of our promise to Mylo we all wrote a wish for him and released them in a balloon.
Because I'm a little party theme "obsessed" everything needs to be quite full on in the theming department! So for Mylo's naming day we went for an up in the air/ hot air balloon theme. I love it because themes for boys can be a bit tricky- not everyone wants dinosaurs or pirates and they really don't suit something like a naming day. So, with the help of my lovely, and uber talented friend Linda from Ever so Sweet Event Styling, we put together this gorgeous display! She's responsible for the amazing styling, I made the biscuits and the spectacular cake was made by CakeAlicious Designs by Al. Some people are just too clever! A special mention to one of my besties, Elana, who created the invitation and certificates. You can check out her work over at Missemoo (she does the most gorgeous tram rolls too- just saying).
Check it out! It's all so pretty!
