We need a lot of activities over the school holidays and we LOVE our Merlin Pass. It gives us access to so many fun things in Sydney. We often head to Darling Harbour and visit SEA LIFE or WILD LIFE.
These holidays we visited WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo. It's one of my favourites. It's a great size for young children and it's very interactive. One of our favourite parts is right at the start - the butterfly room. If you stand very still, chances are that a butterfly (or two) will land on you. Tully will spend forever in there waiting for the butterflies. Even baby Trixie had a butterfly land on her!
We also love the Australian animal walk, where you get up close to kangaroos and wallabies and the rainbow lorikeets sometimes land on you.
Upstairs at the koala sanctuary was a particular highlight this time - there was a tiny baby koala! We couldn't get enough of seeing it all cuddled up with its mum.
There was also story time with a giant bird that was pretty fun. He was so well trained that he headed straight to his carry box straight after the story (or maybe he had just had enough of all the kids!)
We visited the giant crocodile, the Tasmanian devil and the nocturnal house. I love the nocturnal house, all the little animals getting about like it's the middle of the night. The kids also loved all the snakes, tree frogs and lizards.
We followed our WILD LIFE visit with lunch and a play at the Darling Quarter park. It was the perfect last day of the holidays!
If you are thinking of visiting WILD LIFE or SEA LIFE (or the Sydney Tower and Madame Tussauds) you should definitely look into getting a Merlin Annual Pass. It gives you access to 12 attractions across Australia and New Zealand, 20% off food and drinks, 10% at the gift shop and you can give your family and friends 25% off their entry. To get yours, head to www.merlinannualpass.com.au
