Taronga Zoo is one of our favourite places to visit as a family. We have had zoo passes for years and my son volunteered in their YATZ (Youth At The Zoo) program for 5 years. Last year was my first time at the Twilight at Taronga Concert Series to see Missy Higgins and it was AMAZING! This year we were invited by Taronga to come along to Paul Dempsey's concert.
Twilight at Taronga
My husband and I were excited to get out for the night- together! Usually, it's one or the other of us out at night, it's rare we get out together. We headed to the concert lawns and picked up our delicious hamper, spread out our blanket and set ourselves up for the night. The hamper had delicious bagels with smoked salmon, quiche, beef salad, rice paper rolls and more.
Just as we finished the heavens opened and it absolutely poured! Due to lightning, the concert was put on hold and we were all evacuated to the Backyard to Bush house until the storm passed. While we may have been in there for about 40 minutes it added to the experience because it was full of camaraderie!
Once the storm settled we all headed back, a little soggy but ready for the show. And it didn't disappoint! The concert was wonderful and the location was even more amazing. The view at Taronga Zoo is one of the best in Sydney and there is nowhere I'd rather be over summer than lying on the lawn, overlooking the city, listening to great music. Next year I'd love to see Angus and Julia Stone and Claire Bowen on the lineup!
Twilight at Taronga runs until 17th March. To book your tickets and see who is playing visit www.twilightattaronga.org.au
