We all know how hard it is to eat healthy when we are juggling #worklife, #mumlife, #wifelife, #supermumlife - sometimes it almost seems that it would be SOOOO much easier to quickly shove that very inviting packet of Tim Tams down your throat every chance you get rather than taking time out of your busy day to make yourself some 'healthy' snacks.
Well I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to take you a lifetime (i.e.: precious minutes from your day that you could utilise doing more important things such as having a shower - or shock horror - catching up on a show on Netflix!).
It's as simple as adding these ingredients to your next shopping list, and my go to Green Smoothie and Bliss Balls can be whipped up in minutes!
Green Smoothie:
1 handful of spinach leaves
½ banana
½ green apple
2 tablespoons of chia seeds
1 tablespoon of LSA Mix (linseed, sunflower seeds & almond ground mix)
2 teaspoons of wheatgrass/kale green powder
2 tablespoons of vanilla yoghurt
1 ½ cups of coconut water
(use a handful of ice if you prefer your smoothie ice cold)
MAKES 2 SMOOTHIES
'Pick Me Up' Bliss Balls:
1 cup of nuts (I use almonds, macadamias and cashews)
1 cup of dried fruit (sultanas, dates, cranberries, apricots)
½ cup of rolled oats
2 tablespoons of peanut butter
⅓ cup of coconut oil
2 - 3 teaspoons of cacao powder
Blend together, then roll in coconut or crushed nuts if you prefer.
And there you have it! Quick and easy healthy recipes for the Mum on the go (and the rest of the family will love them too)!
