Ever since I watched the Jetsons as a kid I've dreamed of having my own robot servant. My sister and I would enter all those newspaper competitions in the 80's that promised you your own robot - but we never won! Now, with the DEEBOT OZMO 900, I finally have my own! The DEEBOT OZMO 900 is my very own robot vacuum that cleans my house while I'm out. I'm in love.
Any parent knows that small kids = constantly vacuuming. Especially under the table, inside any exterior doors and anywhere they eat (so basically everywhere). We are all chasing rogue peas around the house and cleaning up crumbs.

So let's talk about what the DEEBOT OZMO 900 can do (we've named ours Thomas)
The DEEBOT OZMO 900 is a robot vacuum cleaner that you can operate either via an app or through Google Home or Amazon Alexa. It vacuums hard floors and carpets, and it has a mopping function as well.
It scans and maps your home to make cleaning efficient and you can use the app to set areas of the house you want it to pay particular attention to. You can also set 'no-go zones' if there are areas you want to keep it away from.
The app shows you how long it has been cleaning for, it's battery percentage and how much it has cleaned in the home. Using the app you can also set regular cleaning times or activate it when you are out. You can also change the vacuum power between standard and max, check the water level, activate Auto-Boost Suction, Continuous Cleaning and set a cleaning schedule.
What we think of the DEEBOT OZMO 900
We have had Thomas for almost a week now and I think it's fair to say he's already part of the family. He talks to us (he just told my husband to please not stand next to him, so he has some sass!), and he works away quietly in the background, just getting things done.
He has the option to insert a brush for hardcore cleaning or to insert a pad for mopping. He returns himself to the charging dock when his battery is low, and he then returns to where he was once he has charged, to continue cleaning.
He's not just cleaning either - he's our entertainment. The cat doesn't know what's going on, and if we need to entertain baby Trixie we just turn on Thomas and she follows him around the house. He's a cleaner and a nanny and he asks for nothing in return!
FAQs
Here are the answers to the questions we really wanted to know...
How long is the battery life?
The DEEBOT OZMO 900 has a battery life of up to 110 minutes. If it hasn't finished cleaning the house it will return to its last stop once charged to keep cleaning. At first, while it is working hard to map your house the battery life will be shorter.
Do you need to get everything off the floor before using it?
The answer to this one is yes, pretty much. Just like a regular vacuum, it will vacuum up small toys and so on. The DEEBOT OZMO 900 works best with no obstacles on the floor. We just pick everything up then set it to clean.
Does it get stuck on furniture?
Yes, it can get stuck on somethings. It's fine with heavy furniture, but it can push light stuff around the floor a bit and get stuck. You also need to keep it clear of cables. It does work well around regular furniture though. This is something I was really impressed with.
How often does it need emptying?
Every day really if you are using it regularly. It's more for daily, regular cleans rather than one big, weekly clean.
Does it work?
Yes! It picks up bits of food and cat hair really well, as well as crumbs and dirt. I've noticed the more you use it, the better it gets in terms of coverage of the floor. It started off missing parts and repeating areas but the more it gets to know our house the more efficient it is. It has meant that I have dropped our weekly cleaner to fortnightly and I'm using the DEEBOT OZMO 900 to keep the floors clean and mopped in between.
