    School Holiday Checklist

Published: Jul 1, 2024 · Modified: Jul 1, 2024 by Maraya · This post may contain affiliate links · Leave a Comment

School holidays can be a real rollercoaster for parents, am I right? While it's awesome to have the kids around more, the struggle is real when it comes to keeping them entertained and out of trouble. It's like a full-time job on top of everything else. That's why I introduced the school holiday checklist!

Why Use a School Holiday Checklist?

One thing that can save your sanity during these breaks is a good old checklist. Yes, I'm talking about a simple, but oh-so-effective checklist that can keep the kids occupied and give you some well-deserved peace and quiet (or at least a chance to sip that lukewarm coffee). Think of it as your secret weapon against boredom-induced chaos.

I use this checklist to ward off the incessant asking for screens. She might be on holidays but I'm still working, and this gives her the ability to manage her own time and not ask me what she should do or tell me she's bored. Plus, checking off completed tasks gives her a sense of accomplishment – it's like a mini reward system built right in! She complains about the list, but she cant help ticking them off. She's a sucker for a list lol!

And let's not forget the benefits for us. A well-planned checklist means fewer meltdowns (from kids and possibly from us too), more structured days, and even a chance to sneak in a moment for ourselves. Whether it's catching up on work, tackling that mountain of laundry, or just enjoying a brief moment of peace, a checklist can be a lifesaver.

You can download the checklist HERE to print!
