Sunbeam High Performance Power Blender Review

Sunbeam High Performance power blender

For this review, I hand the blog over to Mr Stuff Mums Like, who is in charge of the kitchen in our house!

One of my many hobbies is pointing out to my wife all the times I was ahead of the curve. Mostly when it comes to health and wellness trends. Take any food or health fad you might have seen or heard of recently and I was probably doing it before anyone else. At least that’s my completely unsubstantiated claim. I won’t list all the times I was wrong, because it hurts my argument, but here are the ones I got right.

Kombucha? Everywhere these days, even in your local service station! 5 years ago I was buying the cultures of bacteria and fungus on eBay and fermenting my own. Totally safe right?!

Low Fodmap Diet? A few years ago I announced to my wife that I was trying out a low fodmap diet. For the uninitiated fodmap = fructose, oligosaccharides... erm, I forget the rest. But they’re the bad things that can give you a dicky tummy and other complaints. She laughed at me for that one but fast forward a few years and she announced that she’s going to try this low fodmap diet that everyone’s going on about!

Green smoothies? Here I was a really early adopter. Blending up spinach and broccoli with my fruit smoothie. At first in a food processor (not advised) and then the weakest blender imaginable. I’m convinced it basically just stirred the mixture. So I’ve forced down countless green “smoothies”, sometimes requiring a spoon if not knife and fork to consume.

The difference a high powered blender like the Sunbeam High-Performance Blender makes is incredible. If you close your eyes and focus on the flavour the green smoothies I’ve made have always been delicious but each lump you encounter can be a little... unsettling. Once you get a real blender you don’t go back. We loved the preprogrammed smoothie setting in particular.

And yes, even our six year old loves a green smoothie, although as ever my wife is a bit late to join the trend. She prefers her smoothies not the colour of swamp water. Can you believe she also still eats her almonds before they’ve even been activated too? Madness!
