5 INGREDIENT SAUSAGE AND VEGETABLE PASTA BAKE

This affordable and easy pasta bake recipe is perfect for a family weekday dinner.

Equipment

  • 1 large saucepan
  • 1 baking dish
  • 1 Frying pan

Ingredients
  

  • 500g Sausages
  • 500g Penne Pasta
  • 1 cup Frozen vegetables
  • 700g bottle pasta sauce/passata
  • Mozzarella shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Cook the pasta in boiling water on the stove until soft. 
  • Add frozen vegetables to boiling pasta about 5 minutes before the pasta is ready.
  • Cut the tips off the sausage and squeeze the assuage sausage from the lining into a fry pan with some oil. (you can also chop the sausages if you prefer but removing the casing makes them a bit like meatballs).
  • Fry the sausages until brown then add pasta sauce. Feel free to add garlic, Italian herbs, chilli, or whatever your family prefers flavour-wise.
  • Cook until sausages are cooked through.
  • Drain pasta and veggies and pour into a baking dish.
  • Add sausage and sauce mixture on top and stir through until combined
  • Spread mozzarella cheese over the top and bake for about 20 minutes, or until the cheese is golden brown.
