Tully and I recently went to Bali for a mum and daughter trip. We stayed mainly in Seminyak and we had a blast, doing things I haven't really done before in Bali. I've been so many times but this time we just stayed local and explored some hidden gems. So if you want 5 activities in Seminyak for tweens, that aren't the usually big tourist things, then here were our favourites!

Activities in Seminyak for tweens
The Republic of Soap
The Republic of Soap was such a hit that Tully went twice (and wanted to go a third time, except it was closed!). Here you can customise a whole range of products, including; perfume, room spray, shampoo, conditioner, bath bombs, moisturiser and so much more. You get to sit down at the table with their artisans, and pick out the fragrances you'd like to add to your product. Once you have your fragrances you head over to the 'bar' where they mix it all up for you. Then you create a label for your product and take it home.
While you are there, make sure you pop next door to Biku cafe for cake and an iced tea. There's nowhere in Bali that does better cake (and they have gluten free options too).
Make chocolate at the Karakoa Chocolate Factory and Cafe
We both loved this activity so much! While not strictly in Seminyak, its about 15 minutes away by taxi. You need to book in to the chocolate class on the Krakakoa Chocolate Factory and Cafe website, and over the 2 or so hours you're there you'll learn about the history of Indonesian chocolate and how they farm it and make it. You'll get to make four bars of chocolate each and decorate them with different toppings. You'll also get to do a taste test of their range of chocolate and learn all about the different types. We had such a good time and the chocolate we made was amazing! I highly recommend.
Shop at Stroberi
Stroberi is a shop full of cute things! It's a bit like Smiggle but has a large range of Sanrio products (Hello Kitty/ Cinnamoroll etc) and loads of other cute things. They also have a DIY bead bar where you can make your own bracelets and key rings. Tully loved this part and we made a bunch of key rings, as well as buying a whole bunch of things with cute little faces. You'll find it on the main street of Seminyak, up the road from Indigo Kids and Sundays, on the same side of the street. If you get to the next Indigo Kids shop, you've gone too far!
Sunday Family Brunch at KU DE TA
I'm been to KU DE TA a million times, it's my favourite thing to do as soon as I get to Bali. It's a great way to get straight into the holiday vibe. But I've never gone for the Sunday family brunch. On Sundays they run kid friendly activities while you relax and eat. While we were there they were running pottery classes which Tully loved! The food is also amazing, and the location can't be beat. Take your swimmers as well to enjoy the beach front pool. KU DE TA is the type of place you'll end up spending the whole day.
Shopping
I'm not a massive shopper but Tully loves it! We visited Sundays, Arlo Archives, Paulina Katerina, some surf shops and the Oberoi Flea Market. The market is my fave, if you like a boho style dress, go into the market, walk to the far lane way and walk to the very end. The dress shop facing you at the end there has the best dresses. She will sell you two for 500 000 rupiah ($50). I have so many! Tully loves all the market dresses that you can get for a great price. You can also get fake designer goods, sunglasses, jewelry, shoes and accessories. It's a great way to let them get a fair amount of stuff for not too much money.
Our favourite places to eat
If you are looking for some great places to eat in Seminyak we love:
La Lucciola
LaLucciola is the ultimate breakfast or sunset dinner location. It's been around for 25 years and is still one of the most popular places in Bali. The food is amazing and the location is one of the best, right on the beach. You can see the sunset as well.
Sea Circus
Right in the heart of Seminyak, you cant miss Sea Circus. It's the brightly coloured building! I recommend the tacos and the breakfast bowls. Tully recommends the pancakes! And make sure you visit the bathroom, it's a real feature!
Biku
As I mentioned earlier, Biku is our favourite. They have fantastic food, are so well priced, and have amazing cakes. Do the afternoon tea there. You wont regret it! Bookings are recommended as it gets really popular.
I hope you enjoy these activities in Seminyak for tweens! Bali is such a fun place to visit with kids. I have a more extensive guide to Bali with kids here, and I have a list of my favourite beach clubs here. Also - if you are planning to visit Waterbom, here's the full run down!
