NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island Qld

NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island 5

Recently we headed off to the Gold Coast for a family holiday. With three kids aged three, 14 and 16 it can be hard to find a holiday destination we will all enjoy, but the Gold Coast has something for everyone. First up we needed to find somewhere to stay. I had some boxes that had to be ticked when it came to where we would stay and they were: It must be self catering, it must have it least 2 bedrooms, it must have a pool and play area, food on site would be extra points and it can't be too far from all the shops and theme parks etc. NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island ticked all the boxes- so lets take a look.

    Accommodation

At NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island we stayed in a 2 bedroom Villa. It slept 6 people, with a king bed in one room and two sets of bunks in the other. Both rooms had their own ensuite as well which was great.

It had a big, L shaped lounge with a TV, DVD player and Foxtel (huge bonus there as Tully needs her daily dose of Paw Patrol to keep her sane.) There was a second TV in the master bedroom too (hello Home and Away!).

The kitchen had a full size fridge, stove top and a microwave, however it was missing an oven- something we only realised after we bought some frozen pizzas for dinner!

There was also a washer and dryer and a deck with a table and chairs and a BBQ which we used quite a few times.

NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island 1Entertainment

NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island had some fantastic entertainment that suited all the kids. The favourite for toddlers and teens alike was the bouncing pillow- it was a lot like the floor of a jumping castle that was inflated every day between 9am-7pm and it was endless hours of bouncing fun. It was strategically placed near the restaurant/bar so that the parents could relax and the kids could bounce their sillies out.

Also near the restaurant/bar was the water park. It was a wet area with water fountains, a water bucket, sprays and showers that could be turned on with the push of a button. Parents could also lie back on a sun lounger while the kids played.

The swimming pool was lagoon style- with three separate pools, a water slide, water cannons and a baby pool. There was also a spa and a playground- you could spend hours there (and we did thanks to Tully!)

As well as all this there was a mini golf course, out door movie nights for the kids and buggies you could hire to drive around the park. With all of this plus the scooters and bikes the kids staying in the park had brought with them they were almost all outside- riding and scootering in small gangs!

    Eating/ Shopping

NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island has a bistro on site, as well as a small general store for basics such as milk, bread, ice creams etc. The Bistro runs specials and entertainment regularly such as trivia, bingo, pizza night etc, and having it there means that on the nights you don't feel like cooking you can just pop down and eat. Expect the pub basics- schnitzel, chicken parmie, steak, burgers etc. It's not that exciting but it does the job.

The park is also conveniently located on a large block between two shopping centres so within walking distance you have a Coles, a Woolworths, an enormous mall with everything you can think of, a cinema and a huge variety of places you can eat. It's perfect if you don't have a car- you couldn't ask for a better location.

NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island is located in Biggera Waters, which is basically Labrador. It's about 15 minutes to the Gold Coast, Sea World, Movie World and Wet 'n' Wild and 20 minutes from Dreamworld.

All in all NRMA Big 4 Holiday Park- Treasure Island is exactly what we were looking for. It's perfect for families and really created a relaxed holiday feel. Sitting by the pool or on the deck surrounded by palm trees was the perfect location to take a break and we will definitely be back!

Take the family on a fun adventure these Easter school holidays at any of the 5 NRMA Holiday Parks; Merimbula, Murramarang, Gold Coast, Coffs Harbour or Umina.    Stay 2 nights from $170* per cabin per night and enjoy family fun activities during the school holidays.  From treasure hunts to movie nights and everything in between, there's something for the whole family to enjoy.  Book NOW, visit www.nrmaholidayparks.com.au
