These holidays Tully watched School of Rock for the first time and it's safe to say she's obsessed. There's has been numerous viewings, listening to the songs and asking me to rip her jeans for her! So when we were invited to School of Rock the Musical, it's safe to say that she was pretty excited.
School of Rock the Musical is playing at The Capitol Theatre in Sydney and it's the perfect show to take the kids to see these holidays. The theatre was packed with kids of all ages and they were having an absolute ball.
Based on the iconic, hit movie, this irresistible new musical follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight –A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out?
Brent Hill is fantastic as Dewey, especially considering he's playing a role written for, and made famous by, Jack Black. He really made the role his own and he was so good! And then the kids - the kids were just amazing and Tully loved watching them all. They all sing and play their own instruments. I can't believe we have these little kids with that level of talent.
The whole show was just so much fun. Tully was transfixed the whole time and there wasn't a boring moment in the whole show. The songs were catchy and everyone just had the best time. You could see the whole audience was loving it! You will leave singing the songs for the next few days!
