Book Review- Sonoma Meets Miss Mouse

We were lucky enough to be sent a copy of Di Morrissey's first children's book- Sonoma Meets Miss Mouse. While Di is one of Australia's most successful authors, this is her first foray into children's books.

We LOVE books in our house so when we were asked to take a look at the new book we jumped at the chance- and we haven't been disappointed. Sonoma Meets Miss Mouse (or just 'Miss Mouse' as Tully calls it) has become a firm favourite at bedtime since it arrived.

The story of a little girl who finds a tiny mouse crying outside her door, 'Miss Mouse', is beautifully illustrated and written. The illustrations are perfect for a bedtime book- quite dark and striking but not so bright and busy that it hypes them up.

Miss MouseDi's story of a little mouse who needs a helping hand captures Tully's imagination every time. Oh and the thing I love the most about it...? That it's long and wordy enough that eight times out of 10 Tully falls asleep by the end! The writing is soothing and relaxing and by the time Miss Mouse finally gets her supper Tully is out like a light!

So if you are looking for an instant classic to add to your collection Tully and I can highly recommend Sonoma Meets Miss Mouse.

So proud of you Cousin Diane. Love from the forest of Oregon.
Ooooohhhh how I long to visit with you and family, to gather on The Manning River, have a picnic, go walkabout in Wingham. My son Taylor and I WILL RETURN to our other home Australia, some day. My love to all.

The illustrations are delightful. The right sort of book my 3 youngest grandchildren like.
