Having recently become a Mum of two, it’s safe to say that anything that makes life a little easier and allows me to get things done faster automatically becomes my favourite thing of all time! Add to that the fact we moved from Sydney to country South Australia, our lifestyle has changed from that of convenience and having everything at hand, to planning our days well in advance. Even the simplest trip to the grocery store involves a 3 hour round trip and lugging a 5 year old and 8 week old along for the ride can add hours to that!

When breastfeeding we all know that it is very hard to schedule and plan ahead when your little one is going to want to have his breakfast/lunch/dinner, which can throw even the most organized plans out the window. As much as I am enjoying the quality time I spend with my baby boy during breastfeeding, there are times when I need to be out and about without the kids and I need a helping hand with feeding time, whilst ideally still continuing with exclusively feeding Ashton breast milk. I had been looking into expressing solutions and after a few weeks of research was overjoyed when Medela was lovely enough to send me a ‘Breastfeeding Care Pack’ to try which has saved my life!

I absolutely ADORE my Medela Swing Maxi Double Electric Breastpump! It is so easy to use and clean, and with the double pump action I can have a full feed expressed in a fraction of the time it takes to breastfeed or single pump (having experienced both before getting my hands on the Medela pump). I can go about my day, run my errands and feel secure in the knowledge that Ashton will have his breast milk whether I am home or not. This has also given my hubby the opportunity to have a turn of bonding time during feeding which is another advantage.

The Medela Breastfeeding Starter Kit has also been a great way to sample the other products in the Medela range. The Quick Clean Micro-Steam Bag is AH-MAZINGLY convenient! Just pop in any item you need to sterilize, follow the easy instructions, pop it in the microwave and BAM – everything is sterilized and ready to use!The freezer pouches are great space savers and you even get a tube of Purelan Nipple Cream which we all know is a welcomed relief in those first few weeks of breastfeeding when your nipples are worse for wear.

I was really excited to try the Medela Calma teat on Ashton to see how it compared to other teats on the market. Ashton LOVES his food and I found that in his haste to drink his milk, other teats left him either having to work really hard to extract the milk, or the flow was too fast and it left him gulping in too much milk and air causing him to have reflux and discomfort after bottle feeding him. Ashton took to the Calma teat quite easily and he seems to be very content with the flow and best of all it has minimized the occurrence of excessive burping and hiccups he would usually get after bottle feeding. I’ve found the Medela range to be convenient, easy to use and clean, and the perfect solution for my busy lifestyle. The Swing Maxi Double Electric Breastpump now takes pride of place in my kitchen!

Medela provides the most technologically advanced, superior-quality breastpumps and breastfeeding accessories to nursing mothers globally. A longtime champion of breastfeeding, Medela is the only company to develop products based on research by the world's leading lactation experts. Both Swing maxiTM (RRP: $449.00) and The Breastfeeding Starter Kit (RRP: $49.90) are available in all good retailers.  www.medela.com.au | www.facebook.com/medela.au
