When we visited the Kids InStyle expo we discovered Playmais! They are a new craft activity made from maize, water and food colouring. They are a lot like the packing beans you get with parcels, but non toxic and brightly coloured.
They come in boxes and buckets and you can create 2D mosaics and 3D constructions- you are limited only by your imagination. They stick together with a dab of water and as you can see in the pic above you can create some pretty fun things. Tully and Zali worked together to create these Disney Princesses- it was so much fun.
Playmais are great for fine motor skills and encouraging creativity. They are also perfect for independent play because they are 100% safe and easy to use. We use them to sort into colours, sizes and create scenarios that encourage imaginative play. They are a great opener into creative stories and learning.
