Chicago the Musical! We were so excited to be invited to the opening night of this amazing musical. I'm such a massive fan of Casey Donovan so I was excited to see her take on the iconic role of Mama, and she did not disappoint!
Chicago the Musical was a ball of fun from the opening number - Alinta Chidzey brought the house down as Velma, singing All That Jazz, and the rest of the show was a great at the start. I hadn't seen Alinta in anything before but what a powerhouse! She absolutely stole the show.
Casey Donovan was as fantastic as always. She was perfect as Mama Morton, and if they ever make a Greatest Showman musical and she isn't cast as Lettie (the bearded lady), then there's something wrong with the world.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte was the perfect casting as Roxy Hart, the fame hungry, manipulative murderess, jailed for killing her lover. The combo of Natalie, Alinta and Casey, along with Tom Burlinson as Billy Flynn, was absolutely perfect. The show doesn't miss a beat and was just the best time I've had at the theatre in ages.
It's an absolute must see! Get your tickets at www.chicagothemusical.com.au
