Today Lynsey and I headed in to the Qantas offices at Mascot to attend the launch of the new Qantas Food economy menu. We arrived to a giant table set up near a real jet engine and we sat down with a group of other bloggers to try the new menu. I have to admit the thought of airline food made me slightly apprehensive, as I had flash backs to the awful food provided by another airline last time I travelled overseas!
However, as we sat down to a mixed plate of salads (with ingredients such as felafel, quinoa and pesto involved) I was pleasantly surprised- the food was like something you'd get from a good salad bar! For the mains we moved on to fish and chips (on a plane? How?!!), a beef noodle dish and butter chicken and naan! The butter Chicken was my favourite- it tasted like real curry, nothing like you'd think when you think of airline food! Then to top it off a massive platter of Lindt balls was placed in front of us...!
This new menu is for domestic flights and launches tomorrow- we can't wait to see what you get on an international flight!!!
Thanks Qantas- we has a ball.
