I've had so many questions about our stay at the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa on Sentosa Island in Singapore, so I've put together this post to cover all the information for you! I'm covering off accommodation, food, entertainment and everything else I can think of. We stayed at the Shangri-La Rasa Ria in Borneo a few years ago and it was one of my very favourite hotels ever so I'm excited that we got to experience the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa.

Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa Review
Accommodation
We stayed in the Deluxe Pool View Room, which came with two king single beds and a fold out couch for the kids. The couch can sleep two kids comfortably. The room was a good size, even with the bed folded down. We left it down the whole time because we weren't spending much time in the room. But you can also fold it back up every day and the hotel staff will fold it back down when they come and turn down the room in the evening.
The room has a mini bar fridge and a full bathroom, including a bath, which is great for families with young children. Our room had a balcony that overlooked the pool. The pool does play music a lot of the day but the soundproofing glass means you can't hear a thing. Also make sure you keep your door shut when you are out because otherwise you might get a visit from a local monkey!
In your room you'll also be given free cartons of water. Take these with you when you head to the pool because poolside drinks aren't cheap!
Food Options
Silver Shell Cafe
The Silver Shell Cafe is the ultimate in hotel dining. It has one of the most spectacular buffet breakfasts and dinners I've experienced in a hotel. There is a huge variety of different cuisines and there is something for everyone.
The restaurant has a special kid zone as well, set up at kid height so they can serve themselves. There are all the kid favourites there, as well as extras like fruit, yoghurt and delicious dessert. The chocolate fountain in particular was a big hit with Tully!
For breakfast there are a number of hot and cold food stations, as well as the kid's zone for the little ones. My only problem was that I couldn't eat as much as I wanted!
On Friday nights there is also entertainment for the kids at dinner.
Trapizza
Trapizza is a casual beach side dining experience. It's located down the beach from the main hotel, next door to Nestopia, a play area for kids. It's reasonably priced Italian food and it's great for families because the kids can just run and play on the beach while you eat. They have really cute kids meals as well, and Tully's favourite was the ice cream in the fairy floss nest for dessert!
Casserole
We didn't eat at Casserole but it offers meat free dining, so it's prefect for vegans and vegetarians. It's menu looks fantastic and it specialises in meat free casseroles for sharing. It also has a meat free kid's menu, so the whole family can enjoy a meat free meal! Next time I'll take Tully here because she's chosen to be a vegetarian.
Activities
There are so many things to do at the hotel! The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa is the only hotel in Singapore that is on the beach, and they have kayaks, paddle boats and stand up paddleboards you can use down at the beach. There is also a beach volley ball net if you fancy that!
Over at the pool they kick the day off with morning aqua exercises like aqua boxing or aqua trampolining. We loved the aqua trampolines - I want one for my pool!
Throughout the day the 'Fun Team' run pool games for the kids, and there are balls and pool floats in the pool all the time to play with. There's also an adults only area sectioned off at one end if you want to escape the kids for a while.
Over next to the pool is a water play area and three water slides that the kids will love!
There is a kids club (the Cool Zone) where kids from 5-12 can be left with carers to participate in a range of activities while you get some alone time. They have a range of activities every day. Kids under 5 will need to be supervised by their parents.
Nestopia is a kids' obstacle course and net play area down at the beach. Kids can adventure through 17 play sections with netted obstacle courses connecting three giant nests and two of the longest slides on Sentosa island. Your booking gives kids one hour of play time.
Getting Out and About
The Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa is located right next to the cable car station, which takes you across the island and to the mainland. The cable cars are definitely a must do, but they are the most expensive way to get off the island, so you only really need to do it once.
At the bottom of the driveway is the bus stop for the free shuttle bus, which takes you to VivoCity station. You can then get the free monorail to the mainland and get the MRT around the city.
We also opted to use GoJek to get around. It's like Uber and you can download the app and order one. Most trips cost around SNG$20 (everything seems to be about 20 minutes away in Singapore) and it just made everything faster and easier. It's hot and Tully would get tired easily, so GoJek was a great option for us. As there was three of us it didn't really cost much more than paying for public transport for three people.
We absolutely loved our stay and the Shangri-La Rasa Sentosa and we can't wait to go back. If you have any questions at all let me know below and I'll do my best to answer them for you!
