Last weekend we were invited to the launch of Santa's Grotto at the Sydney Tower Eye (or as it will always be known to me- Centrepoint Tower!)- They have set up a little house with Santa up on the observation deck- 250 metres up in the sky!
We love visiting the city at Christmas- the David Jones Christmas windows, the Christmas trees, all the amazing decorations- and this year a giant Lego Christmas tree at Pitt Street Mall. Now, with Santa's grotto at the top of the Tower Eye, there's another place to visit on the Christmas map!
At the launch we headed up the tower, where the kids had the opportunity to do some Christmas craft and visit Santa. The whole way there, Tully talked about seeing Santa, and even chose her new favourite fairy tutu by Eeni Meeni Miini Moh. But when we got there the reality was too much and she hid from him- so as you can see above, we had to evict Santa and replace with daddy instead!
She did, however, love the craft activities! She made a Christmas tree with her handprints and a Santa mask (not scary like the real Santa apparently!) and had a great time.
It was also fun exploring Santa's house (as long as there was no actual Santa!)
Even the teenagers had a great time- they love going into the city and there's a special magic in the air at Christmas time.
So if you are looking for something fun to do this Christmas head up to The Sydney Tower Eye- where Santa will be until the 24th December. All visitors will also receive a free Santa photo.
