A Very Special Place is a beautifully crafted and soul filled story about finding your home within. Created while on an overseas journey of self-discovery, this carefully illustrated story demonstrates the importance of knowing that wherever you are in this world, you can find your home in your heart.
We were sent a copy to review and it's lovely! Tully loves reading it and I use the opportunity to talk to her about feeling safe and the meaning of having a home. It has bright, colourful, childlike illustrations that kids can identify with easily.
Based out of Melbourne (via New Zealand), Tania collaborated with Hobart based illustrator Jessica Burdon to bring the words to life, via a chance meeting through a friend of a friend. Tania is a writter, life coach and yoga teaching Vegetarian whilst Jessica is an Illustrator, mother of one, painter and works with children in an early learning centre. This coincidental partnership has brought to life a powerful message that can be shared with children around the world, no matter where they come from or how far away from home they may feel.
