We need a lot of activities over the school holidays and we LOVE our Merlin Pass. It gives us access to so many fun things in Sydney. We often head to Darling Harbour and visit SEA LIFE or WILD LIFE.
These holidays we headed to the Seymour Centre in Sydney to watch Hamlet Prince of Skidmark. This hilarious take on the classic is by The Listies, one of our all-time favourite kids’ performers. They are like a kid version of Lano and Woodley, with a whole lot of fart and poo jokes. Find me a kid that doesn’t think that’s hilarious!
These holidays are action packed down at Darling Harbour. There is so much to do. We just spent the day doing everything we could fit in – covering SEAlife Aquarium, Monkey Baa Theatre, lunch, the playground, pop up attractions and the Ferris wheel! Here’s a recap of what’s on these holidays…
So, I’m all about Easter – what’s not to love about a four day weekend and more chocolate than you can possibly handle? While I don’t prescribe to the religious aspect of it, I’m all about the bunny and the eggs! This year our Easter kicked off early with an amazing Easter preview by Cadbury.
Taronga Zoo is one of our favourite places to visit as a family. We have had zoo passes for years and my son volunteered in their YATZ (Youth At The Zoo) program for 5 years. Last year was my first time at the Twilight at Taronga Concert Series to see Missy Higgins and it was AMAZING! This year we were invited by Taronga to come along to Paul Dempsey’s concert.
Yesterday we headed to North Sydney to test out some board games by Winning Moves. They are responsible for games such as Top Trumps, Monopoly, Cluedo and Connect Four, as well as my all-time favourite, Pass the Pigs! Tully is just at the age where she is really getting into games- but it can be hard to find ones that are right in her age and ability range. She’s not reading yet so anything with words means she needs parental supervision, so picture games with not too many rules work best.
Today we headed off to the Langham Sydney for their Paddington high tea, celebrating the release of Paddington 2. The Langham is my very favourite hotel in Sydney so it wasn’t just Tully and her friend Aimee who were excited! We love a high tea and we have been sampling them around the city lately.
If you have a little Frozen fan and you are looking to do something fun these holidays then head to the Sofitel Wentworth for their Frosted high tea! To celebrate the new featurette ‘Olaf’s Frozen Adventure’, they have partnered with Disney to create a frosted winter wonderland, just like Elsa would create!

Last week we were invited to a surprise event at the Botanic Gardens Restaurant – it was labeled as the World’s Biggest Degustation and the invite said that it would be 210 dishes served over 12 hours. However, this was all we knew!
Last weekend the teenagers and I headed to Moore Park to check out Titanic The Exhibition. Now, we are all big fans of the Titanic story (and the James Cameron movie) so we were looking forward to the exhibition. Zali was armed with one of her many conspiracy theories, this time that it was, in fact, the Olympic, Titanic’s sister ship that set sail and sunk. She loves a good conspiracy.
